Last Friday was my “official” last day of work. I tried to convince the office manager to have the office take the staff to Dave and buster’s, but alas, I settled for an office lunch just up the street. I had been with the firm since November of last year (9 months) and am sad to have to leave them so soon. The time has flown. I’m still living in May. I had the distinct privilege of working with some 50 families who were on their last recourse to legally immigrate to the United States to be with their family here. Part of my work entailed getting to know each family member more profoundly than most of their own family members knew them. Within a few short moths I went from meeting a family for the first time to feeling like I had known them their entire lives.
Sadly, I still have cases pending that I will not be able to welcome in the United States once they are approved. Nonetheless, I am proud to know that I am leaving the office with every decided case having been decided in the favor of the client. These have truly been remarkable people and I believe our nation is a stronger place because they have been able to enter legally, obtaining Permanent Legal Residence status.

Larry (my go-to-guy, kind of like a supervisor, but not really), Myself and Joaquin (Office social butterfly, and does it all guy).
Far left is Daisy (paralegal-assistant) and then Lupita and Roy (My replacements. Hehehe, they had to hire two. Though maybe I was just really far behind).

An excellent staff, fantastic practice and unforgetable clients. Best wishes to everyone!
